There are many different types of bikes in the world. One among them is mountain bike, as the name itself indicate they are specially designed in order to make it suitable for mountain biking on dirt trial or unpaved environments. The presence of certain features and even absence of certain things make them suitable and best option for mountain biking. For instance they have tires that are knobby for getting more traction and absorbing the shocks effectively.

The mountain bikes are basically classified basing on the type of suspension into four different categories.

1) This includes fully rigid mountain bikes. The frames in this type of bikes possess a strong fork while the rear is fixed without suspension.

2) This includes hard tail mountain bikes. This have frame without rear suspension but have front suspension.

3) This includes soft tail mountain bikes. This has a frame with small rear suspension and is put into action by flexing the frame rather than the pivots.

4) This includes full or dual suspension bikes. This has suspension-fork in the front while the rear suspension has shock absorbers. These both suspensions are linked and the rear-wheels are made to move by the pivots.

Mountain bike disk brakes are one of the most important parts of the mountain bikes. They are the advancement of the rim brakes and are better then them. Almost all them in today have these brakes. Every thing in this world has its own advantages and disadvantages. Same is the case with mountain bike disk brakes. They lay on the centre of they bike unlike other bikes this makes them better in the way that they remain more cleaner and work stronger and better then other brakes. On one hand if you have this advantage on the other hand you have a disadvantage in the fact that they are very heavy and expensive too.

The more complicated and complex a thing is the tougher it gets to maintain them. Similarly as the disk brakes are better designed when compared to other brakes it makes them tougher to be maintained. This makes it expensive enough to be maintained.

Safety comes first always, so you need to make sure that these brakes are in a proper condition every now and then. Its absolutely obvious that you should make sure that these brakes are checked by professional every month. Any minut5 negligence can cause severe consequences, especially the bicycle brakes. Or otherwise you may end up reducing the overall lifespan of your mountain bike. In order to make your bike durable, you must maintain it properly to get the best out of it.
